OASBO's Response to Governor's Orders
Dear OASBO Members:
The Ohio Association of School Business Officials (OASBO) is closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to ensuring our members have the most recent information, we are taking proactive steps to address a number of operational concerns. Our number one priority is to maintain a safe workplace and encourage best practices when it comes to protecting the health of employees, members, visitors or others. In addition, it is important that we maintain continuity in delivering services to our members during this challenging time.
In accordance with the executive order by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and to ensure the health and safety of our members, OASBO is announcing that it will be canceling all in-person meetings and seminars from now through May 1. This includes all committee and chapter in-person meetings. We will be using online methods where possible for committee work, meetings, and professional development. In cases where online solutions aren’t possible, we will work to reschedule events where possible. Chapters wishing to keep their meetings during this time should reach out to Kim Laugherty at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can help facilitate online delivery. The OASBO Board will be meeting via conference call on Friday, March 20 to discuss the next steps relating to the Annual Conference & Expo scheduled for April 21-24.
To further comply with Gov. Mike DeWine’s request to consider flexible worksites and other solutions to stem the spread of COVID-19, the OASBO office will initiate remote operations from now through May 1. During this time, business will continue with the OASBO staff working away from our physical office. We want to assure you that we will continue to monitor email and voicemail to ensure services will continue without interruption. If at any time you need to reach me, please don’t hesitate to contact Jim Rowan directly at 513.280.1053.
OASBO continues to consult with the governor’s office, Ohio Department of Education (ODE), and other education-related associations. We will continue to keep you updated through OASBO’s collaborate community. Further, additional resources are available by visiting the Ohio Department of Education’s webpage.
OASBO will continue to evaluate if future meetings and events need to be adjusted. Future notifications will be posted to collaborate.
Please contact us at 614.431.9116 or 844.838.5395 with any questions you may have. Thank you for all you do to serve the students of Ohio.
