SBO Membership Value

Over 1,600 Ohio school business officials statewide benefit from:

Collaboration & Networking

True to our mission, OASBO provides many in-person and virtual opportunities to connect and collaborate with peers across the state. Whether volunteering on a committee or attending an event, OASBO helps you collaborate with peers and build your own statewide support network!

Career-Long Professional Development

OASBO offers workshops and seminars covering nearly every aspect of school business for new and seasoned SBOs and district support staff. We help SBOs stay abreast of school business topics while earning contact hours & CPIM credit towards maintaining licensure. We provide a link to university credit for degree and advanced degree programs, and offer a Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) for those licensed individuals not currently employed in a school district.

Legislative Advocacy

The interests of school business officials and school districts are being represented at the state and federal levels! Through professional legislative representation, partnerships with other education associations, and grassroots member-driven efforts, OASBO is actively involved in and influences education public policy and education finance in Ohio. Get involved on OASBO's Advocacy Hub!

Mentoring Program

At OASBO, we know how important it is for new school business officials to get connected with seasoned mentors to set them on a path to success. Designed for associate and professional members in supervisory roles, our mentoring program offers a formal orientation & matching program. Mentors can also earn contact hours and seminar credits!

Legal Assistance

Should a professional member have a need to secure legal representation for a school business-related matter, the professional assistance program provides funding for an initial consultation with legal counsel (of up to $520). If additional assistance is needed, OASBO's executive director and/or executive committee may approve additional funding.
