OASBO Member Hugh Garside Wins SERS Board Seat

South-Western City School District Treasurer/CFO and OASBO member, Hugh Garside, has been serving on the SERS Board, appointed to finish out an unexpired term for an “Active Member” board seat. That unexpired term is coming to an end on June 30th, and Hugh was required to run for election to a new term to continue serving on the board.

In an unexpected turn of events, Hugh was the only candidate to qualify to be on the ballot for the election that was scheduled to begin soon. As an active member of SERS, Hugh collected the proper and sufficient signatures qualify. Because there were no other qualified candidates who filed for election to the board, no election will be necessary and Hugh will continue to serve on the SERS board. He will be sworn-in in July 2019. 
 
Thank you to any and everyone who helped Hugh collect the required signatures. Hugh is the third school treasurer and OASBO member currently serving on the SERS board. Dan Wilson, Treasurer/CFO at Mentor EVSD, and Jamie Rossler, Treasurer/CFO at Rossford EVSD, both serve in “appointed” seats of the board (the SERS board is a hybrid with both elected and appointed members).
