OASBO Members Needed to Testify on EdChoice Vouchers
The legislature is currently hosting hearings on the EdChoice voucher program through the Conference Committee on HB 9. Members are encouraged to present testimony during one of the scheduled hearings (see the schedule below). It is important that legislators hear your story! Supporters of EdChoice are coming out in force with private schools recruiting students and parents to come to Columbus and speak.
Providing testimony may seem complicated and intimidating if you haven’t done it before. However, it is very much like the public participation portion of a school board meeting. Lawmakers are typically very friendly to people from the field and they really do want to hear your perspective. Archived recordings of the Conference Committee hearings can be found on the Ohio Channel website.
OASBO will join OSBA in providing testimony on Friday February 14. Click here for a copy of the written testimony. Feel free to utilize the information. Click here for an interactive copy of the witness form that you will need to submit to the committee. Send the witness form and your request to be added to the witness list for the date you wish to participate to: Primary&SecondaryEducationCommittee@ohiohouse.gov. You will also need to submit your written remarks prior to the hearing.

- Friday, Feb. 14, 9 a.m. to noon
- Saturday, Feb. 15, 9 a.m. to noon
